2012 Fall Wine Festival September 15

Here in Nuyaka, Oklahoma, the year has just flown by... in spite of the terribly hot days we thought would never end!

Our festival is the 3rd Saturday in September and will be on the 15th this year. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and customers along with new friends and customers. We will have a fun filled day with wine tasting and music. Plus, we have made some improvements to the grounds that we are eager to show you.

We harvested our wine grapes early due to the extremes of our weather, but got a fairly nice crop. The weather has been hard on all the plants and a much needed rain came recently. It didn’t last long enough for us but it saved watering for the day. You can almost see the plants and birds smiling with relief.

Our hearts and prayers go out to all the folks that have been affected by the fires throughout our state. Remember them and the firefighters, many volunteers, who worked so hard to save so many lives and homes.

Stop by the winery and enjoy the fun on Saturday, September 15, 2012. We will be pouring a wide variety of made-in-Oklahoma wines and Pete will be doing vineyard tours. Map to Winery

Earth Day Bud Break Celebration at Summerside Winery in Vinita, OK on Saturday April 23, 2011.

The celebration starts at 11am with music at 12:30. The Bentonville Flute Circle was founded in 2009 and encourages the preservation, appreciation, and the advancement of traditional and contemporary First Nations Flutes. The circle provides an atmosphere that encourages everyone to grow musically, from the beginner to the recording artist. They always enjoy sharing the gifts of fellowship and everyone is invited to participate.

During intermission Summerside will hold a short “Blessing of the Vines” by Rev. JoAnne Wright. Participants will walk through the vines and see the 2011 bud break of the Chambourcin Vineyard along Historic Route 66 in front of the winery’s courtyard.
Summerside invites all to enjoy this time honored celebration of the earth’s spring season. No admission charge for flute circle activities, and of course there will be Made-in-Oklahoma wine and meads to taste. As always they have an array of grape juices for all to enjoy also and The Bistro also offers soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts.

For more information on the Blessing of Summerside Vines with the Bentonville Flute Circle please contact Summerside Vineyards, Winery & Meadery at 918-256-3000. http://www.summersidevineyards.com/harvest.htm

Get Outside and Taste Some Oklahoma Wines Oct 24

Two fun events this weekend offer opportunities to taste some Oklahoma wines.

One of my favorite wine events from Summer has been moved to October. The Drumright winefest is this Saturday. Since Nuyaka Creek Winery usually pours at this event, I am a bit biased. However, I have been a fan of Tulsa's guitar legend Mark Bruner for decades!

For the 7th year, Drumright is hosting their Annual Wine Festival from Noon untill 6pm at Whitlock Park in Drumright. This is one of the largest and BEST wine festivals in Oklahoma and a NOT TO BE MISSED event.

This year the festival will feature SIX wineries offering samples and wine for sale, food vendors (GOOD food) and several artists scattered throughout the park.

And, one of Tulsa's hottest and best known musical duos, Mark Bruner and Shelby Eicher, will be performing. And not just on stage -- but you have to come to the Festival to see what they have in store!

Tidal School Winery will have a booth offering samples of their award winning wines and new releases. There is a Trolley giving rides back and forth to the winery all afternoon.

Entry fees at Whitlock Park are $12 for Tasters and $5 for non tasters.

Enjoy local art, music and wines at the Fourth Annual Art Walk in Downtown Eufaula! The Art Walk features some of Oklahoma's most talented artists and musicians, experience the shops of Downtown Eufaula, browse the numerous exhibits and visit the wine garden October 24, 2009. Enjoy the street dance and wine garden on the friday night before!

Sailing Horse Winery and Black Sheep Winery will have several wines available to sample so be sure to bring your friends!

2009 Oklahoma Wine Festival Sept 19

Join our family this weekend for a celebration of Oklahoma's fine wines during the Nuyaka Creek Winery Fall Harvest Festival! This Saturday, enjoy live music, fun foods, vineyard tours and more while tasting over a dozen Made-in-Oklahoma wines. Parking and entry is free, just pay $5 for a glass and taste all of our unique Sooner State wines.

Since Okmulgee County still has not begun to repair the Deep Fork River bridges, you have to drive to our winery via Creek County roads. Print out a copy of our winery map for detailed directions to our family vineyard. http://www.nuyakacreek.com/WineryMap.htm

EVENT: 2009 Nuyaka Creek Winery Harvest Festival
DATE: September 19, 2009 from Noon until 7:00 PM
ADMISSION: Buy one $5.00 souvenir wine glass and taste all of the wines
INFORMATION: Call the Nuyaka Mall at 918-756-8485

While you are here, ask Dad about wine grape plants for your home vineyard. He usually has a few vinifera grape vines and elderberry plants to sell to Oklahoma gardeners interested expanding into this rapidly growing agriculture market. It is all happening this Saturday at Nuyaka Creek Winery!
