Permit Direct Sales By Oklahoma Wineries

A recent article in the Muskogee Phoenix highlights the unfair and ineffective wine laws in Oklahoma.

...The state should permit direct sales by wineries to homes on a limited basis and also allow restricted sales to restaurants and liquor stores.

...Oklahoma laws are protecting wholesalers’ market in the state, not people from misusing alcohol. -- 01-15-2008 Muskogee Phoenix Article

They suggest the state of Oklahoma permit direct sales by wineries to homes on a limited basis and also allow restricted sales to restaurants and liquor stores.

I suggest something much more simple...Free Trade. Anything less will continue the current systems that encourages corporations to lobby their way to a competition-free market.

On another note, I've been updating the Oklahoma Winery Website list on my blog. I found several Oklahoma winery websites were no longer online (Coyote Run, Turkey Creek), so I removed them.

Don't forget about the Flying Fez Wine Festival! This event offers tastings from what may be the widest variety of Oklahoma wineries you will ever see in one location.

5th Annual Flying Fez Wine Tasting
