At midnight, on the third Thursday in November, the release of the wine is signaled with a gunshot and the ringing of church bells as the wine begins its journey to Paris and from there around the world.
The American Lung Association of Oklahoma celebrates its arrival in Tulsa with the Beaujolais Nouveau gala Nov. 18 at Southern Hills Country Club.
In addition to a first sip of the Beaujolais Nouveau, which promises a year of good luck, guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner and some of the most exuberant wines from around the globe.
All proceeds will benefit the many programs offered by the American Lung Association of Oklahoma promoting awareness, advocacy, education and research of lung-related diseases for the people of Oklahoma.
