Bold new French wine promotion news from News.com:
WINE growers in southern France, eager to alert holidaymakers to the crisis hitting the industry, will hand out 400,000 bottles later this month at toll booths and along rural roads in the region.
Wines produced in the Aude department - in and around Narbonne and Carcassonne - as well as those made in the Languedoc will be given out, especially to tourists vacationing in the Aude, the wine producers' union said.
The free bottles will bear special labels extolling the virtues of the wine, and producers also will distribute leaflets explaining the current overproduction crisis in France's wine industry.

Champagne Harvest Brunch at Tidal School Vineyards
Depending on the growing conditions, Tidal School Vineyards, in Drumright, will be harvesting their estate Cabernet Franc in August or Sept. Those subscribed to Tidal School's email newsletter will be notified about the exact date of this Harvest Brunch event.
The cost to participate will be $25 per person, and will include grape harvest instructions, one to two hours of harvesting, breakfast brunch, champagne, and a Tidal School Vineyards souvenir wine glass. You will also be able to reserve a bottle of the Cabernet Franc wine that your labor in the vineyard helped to create.

You don't get to hear much audio content on Oklahoma winery websites, but Woods & Waters Winery in Caddo County has added an MP3 version of their radio ad. Stop by and give it a listen.
Even when the ad is no longer broadcast on the radio, offering the content on their website for free allows Woods and Water Winery to get more bang for their buck. Pretty smart, eh?

Free Vineyard Pest Management Workshop July 9
Free Vineyard Class!
Redland Community College will be offering a free workshop on: Integrated Pest Management at the Central Technology Center Campus in Drumright, Oklahoma. The workshop will be conducted by Dr. Greta Schuster, currently an Associate Professor of Integrated Pest Management at West Texas A&M.
Registration will be at 9am and the workshop will begin at 9:30am. After lunch, Tidal School Vineyard will host a field session on pest scouting.
The workshop is free to the public, but please RSVP by email to bryantj@redlandscc.edu or by telephone at 405-422-1271.

Changes in the Oklahoma Wine News Winery Links List
If you visit the site regularly, rather than taking the feed through a newsfeed reader or via email, you may have noticed a change in the look of our Oklahoma Winery Links List. What I have done is set it up as a list of del.icio.us bookmarks, which the good folks at BigBold.com make easily displayable on anybody's website with just a single line of code!
This helps me out by allowing me to maintain only one list even though the content is displayed on other websites in other domains. Such as on my Oklahoma Canoeing and Kayaking website.
If you are interested in adding this free website content to your webpage, just grab the code from the blog website or drop me an email!
