Calabash at Tidal School Vineyard Sept. 15

Experience A CALABASH Dinner with the Classic Rock Band Jumbo Shrimp playing live at Tidal School Vineyard in Drumright.

What is Calabash? Where is Calabash?

It all started in the 1930's. Fisherman would bring their day's catch to the waterfront of the quaint, sleepy little town of Calabash, North Carolina, nestled in the marshes of the Calabash River and Atlantic ocean. The crews would season and batter the freshly caught fish and seafood and fry it up in large pots right under the big oak trees. Soon the smells of the freshly cooked food had local residents asking to buy any leftovers!! It didn't take long until an enterprising local businessman began serving up giant tubs of fried fish and seafood that had been dipped in seasoned batter and cooked until golden brown. 'Calabash style' had been born!! In the 1940's the outdoor cooking was moved inside and by the 1960's restaurants up and down both Carolina coasts and across the South began serving seafood 'Calabash style'.

Now, Tidal School Vineyard is bringing Calabash to Oklahoma from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, September 15, 2007.

Let the talented musicians from Jumbo Shrimp take you away with music from the 60's, 70's & 80's, enjoy a wonderful dinner and of course, great Oklahoma wine! Tickets are $19.95 (+tax), .
