Though not a wine event, our family is celebrating a much revered season of celebration in Oklahoma: Mushroom hunting season!
Just after the end of the cold winter weather in Oklahoma, hardy collectors start combing the wods for the illusive Oklahoma Morel Mushroom. In our area, you get about three weeks to hunt these rare and wonderful fungi, before they disappear. This year, I was surprised to learn that in Michigan they have So MANY morels they put on a Morel Mushroom festival!
Although, I will probably miss this year's Morel Festival...someday I have to make it to Boyne City Michigan for my chance to meet the Woody - The Morel Festival mascot!
